Originally from SW Michigan, Marisol and her husband Gary have three fabulous children that they have the privilege of homeschooling. One daughter and two boys, ranging 9 to 16 years old. Their children were born in a hospital, two with a certified Nurse Midwife, before she even knew that homebirth was an actual option. After attending her first birth as an apprentice over six years ago in 2001, she drove home in tears, realizing that this is how her babies could/should have been brought into the world. The respectful, gentle and loving environment that was provided is something she believes that every family deserves to have. Marisol finished her training in 2006. Marisol joined the Home4Birth practice in November of 2007.
Marisol, a Spanish speaking midwife, has been a member of the Michigan Midwives Association for several years in addition to; MANA, LLL, CMI and a few doula organizations. She also has presented at Western Michigan University, taught Rebozo classes for many different groups and organizations and authored Spanish for the Childbirth Professional, a basic English/Spanish translation guide to support expectant mothers and families.
Marisol and Gary enjoy traveling, camping, gardening, reading and being active in their church. Actually finding time to do all those things is another story!
