Brandi Wood DEM

Brandi and her husband Tom together have three great boys (13, 10 & 8 years old). Andrew, their oldest, was born in the hospital with a Certified Nurse Midwife. Their next two babies were born at home Alex in the water and Aiden on land. Tom and Brandi enjoyed taking responsibility for their family’s birth and parenting from the beginning and were cared for so well that they wanted family centered Midwifery care to be available for other families who choose to birth at home.

In 1996 Brandi became certified as a Childbirth Educator and Doula. For four years Brandi worked at the Madison County WIC (Woman Infants and Children’s Program) as a lactation consultant. Brandi apprenticed as a midwife for 5 years with a midwife of 30 years.

Brandi has been a homebirth midwife since 2000 and is one of the founders of Home4Birth. She is a member in good standing of the Indiana Midwives Association since 1997 and is currently serving as a board member at large. She is also a member of MANA, the Holistic Mom's group, the Indy Attachment Parenting Group and many others.

Brandi and her family are active church-goers and busy with children and gardening. Brandi is the director of the Christian Midwives International Organization and also presents and speaks for oragnaizations, conferences, and college classes concerning midwifery and homebirth.

Brandi is the drector and organizer of Christian Midwives International, dedicated to His glorious design in childbirth!

Marisol Holman DEM

Originally from SW Michigan, Marisol and her husband Gary have three fabulous children that they have the privilege of homeschooling. One daughter and two boys, ranging 7 to 15 years old. Their children were born in a hospital, two with a certified Nurse Midwife, before she even knew that homebirth was an actual option. After attending her first birth as an apprentice over six years ago in 2001, she drove home in tears, realizing that this is how her babies could/should have been brought into the world. The respectful, gentle and loving environment that was provided is something she believes that every family deserves to have. Ever since then, she has been dedicated to providing evidence based care, full of laughter and joy, for each of her families.

Marisol, a Spanish speaking midwife, has been a member of the Michigan Midwives Association for several years in addition to; MANA, LLL CMI and a few doula organizations. She also has presented at Western Michigan University, taught Rebozo classes for many different groups and organizations and authored Spanish for the Childbirth Professional, a basic English/Spanish translation guide to support expectant mothers and families.

Marisol and Gary have also run their family owned business www.BirthWithSol.com since 2002, and enjoy traveling, camping, gardening, reading and being active in their church. Actually finding time to do all those things is another story!
